In the late Summer of 2016 i made the decision to begin using Core Baits products, made locally, in Yorkshire by Matt Duce and good friend John Davison. This was something i had been considering for a good few months, given their experience in working with one of the biggest brands in the industry, before deciding to do their own thing, making good, honest bait, at reasonable prices. It's early days for myself on the bait, but so far i have been impressed by what i have seen and have caught a few fish on it, so i'm looking forward to seeing how it performs going forward and i'm sure it will stand me in good stead. Visit www.corebaits.co.uk for more information or take a look at the facebook page.
Early in 2016 i was accepted by Castaway PVA to becoming part of their growing promotional team. Castaway, as the name suggests deal in PVA products and supply a variety of products from simple mesh systems, to solid bags, bait protection and other little PVA gizmo's to aid you in your angling. Rest assured that if you utilise PVA a lot in your own fishing, Castaway PVA will have the products to suit you. Why not give one or two of their products a go? www.castaway-pva.co.uk
I had been using various bits from the PB Products stable on and off for a number of years, however early in 2018 i approached them to help promote the brand and was consequently accepted as a member of their promotional team. For 2019 i have now been invited to join their main team. They supply a wide range of terminal tackle products, from lines, hooklinks, leaders, hooks, rig bits and loads more. In particular the PB Hit n Run systems, Jellywire hooklink, Shield snag leader and Superstrong hooks have formed an integral part of my set ups. If you're looking for a reliable independent tackle firm, i would highly recommend giving the PB range a go. Head over to www.pbproductsuk.co.uk to check out the range or visit their Facebook page for regular content.
In March 2016 i had my first experience of using Hull Particle products, when using it on my first trip to Linear Fisheries. Since then i have used it on a few occasions and have caught well over it every time. The particle supplied by Lee at HP is of great quality and offers a top quality service with more than reasonable prices. If you are looking for a particle to use, then look no further and head over to www.hullparticle.co.uk.
The River Piker has recently taken Youtube by storm with his predator videos, with in excess of 1000 subscribers and literally thousands of views on his video blogs. Alongside his Youtube Channel, he also writes his own blog about his lure fishing exploits which is popular in its own right. Paul, the man behind the 'River Piker' mantra has agreed to do some 'guest blogs' for me, for a little bit of an insight in to predator fishing, which is at present, sadly a discipline of the sport i've neglected some what. I'd like to thank him for agreeing to do this and i hope his entries will offer a bit of a spin and variation to the content on the DH Fishing blog. Pop over to his pages via the links in this little blurb to see what all the fuss is about.
I actually got to know Adam Bowen a while back, who runs the well known Fishing in the North West website. So i decided to get back in touch with him to join forces in order to help with the promotion of my blog and to hopefully do a few features in the future. Adam and his team of anglers fish various venues all over the North West and there is various info on venues and tactics over on his website, where some of his team also do blog entries from their exploits on the bank. Why not head over and check it out?
Re-developed in 2013, Guns & Roses, my local tackle shop is well worth a look. Mark has a constantly changing range of new and used tackle (often with some real bargains) and can more often than not get you what you are after if he hasn't got it. He stocks fresh bait, including Maggots, Pinkies, Casters and Worms and also has a range of Groundbaits and Pellets. Brands regularly stocked included Preston, Browning, Ultima, Kamasan, Middy, Sensas, Van Den Eynde, among others. Furthermore he holds several different books for local angling clubs in the area and supplies day tickets where applicable. In addition, he also caters for those who like to get out shooting, being registered to deal with Shotguns as well as Air Rifles and holds all the equipment to repair and service guns as required. As with the fishing gear he stocks a wide range of top brands. Why not pop in if you are local to the area?
